A beautiful story behind us

“We are social development gears, driven by fair trade and the great value of artisanal mastery.”

Taller Maya is a design Brand, that partners with artisans from the Yucatan Peninsula, in the creation of unique pieces with history and great cultural value.

We are a platform for social and economic development, in the rural communities of the Yucatán Peninsula.

We redefine luxury with authentic artisanal pieces, that reflect in their unique details, the essence of the Mayan culture.

“We create opportunities through artisanal mastery.”

We preserve Mayan artisanal techniques, that represent great opportunities of economic and social development for the artisans. We work along rural communities to create social enterprises, which form Taller Maya.

Day by day we share stories, art and emotions through the creation of beautiful artisanal pieces. Every detail reveals the essence of and ancestral tradition.

We create accessible spaces for the promotion of Mayan cultural heritage, as a key to empower rural communities of the Yucatán Peninsula.

“We come from a never-ending mission to help Mayan communities, develop their social capital and improve their living conditions.”

Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya works with rural communities, from the Yucatán Peninsula, in the creation of social and economic development opportunities through community self-management and the promotion of community participation.

Being aware of the great heritage of Mayan culture in artisanal mastery, FHMM created entrepreneurial programs that helped artisans by giving them the basic tolos, and training to ensure a sustainable income from using their knowledge and preserving their traditions.

The amazing talent of the artisans and their partnership with FHMM, evolved to what Taller Maya is today.

We operate under the principles of the World Fair Trade Organization, which promotes fair trade and states equitable and healthy work conditions for the artisans.

Today we partner with more than 200 artisans, from 40 communities in the Yucatán Peninsula. New generations are getting involved, more artisanal groups are emerging and the story will continue…
